Second month at the ranch, May 2025

Howdy, folks!

We all know that life in the Wild West is tough - there’s always a lot to do, but it's mostly quiet. Well, this second month of working together has been everything but quiet.

It’s almost hard to believe that no matter how much we plan, good things can still happen spontaneously. Don’t mean to sound cheesy, but Marina and I are a match made in Rodeo heaven. As much as we’re a reflection of each other in how much we love what we do and pour our hearts and souls into Cowboys Trading Post, we’re also very different in other ways - and that’s exactly what makes us get it so f*cking good! (Joao here, by the way - we’ll be interchanging our writing each month.)

Alright, let’s get to the juicy stuff.

What comes after a big stroll through the city that turns into a drop? A quick holiday by the sea. We went to Spain! Not sure you want to know the reasons why (wink) but rest assured - it was worth it. Let’s say it was to celebrate the boss’ birthday!

Apart from always having the best time together and matching looks (classic!), we shot the next drop, which is already available on the website here. But hold your horses - we also had some serious fun (always work hard, play hard).

Our amazing friends Chris and Maria landed in London from Berlin on a Friday morning and stayed with us until Tuesday (pic below). The rest is history - we love them and cherish the memories we made together.

This was also the month of creating silly stickers out of everyday moments. It all started with Marina fracturing her thumb (also not worth diving into how that happened, but hey - another experience under her buckle).

Long story long, Marina came back to London the week after, and then the two of us headed to Ibiza.

As good cowboys, we took our boots and forgot our flip-flops (well - I did. Marina would never!). We strolled across town looking like twins as always, strutting our boots, trying every café and restaurant we could. Some highlights are in the pictures below  - don’t miss them when you find yourself in Ibiza. Not only are they delicious, but they’re also independent and run by the loveliest people from all over the world.

Of course, work always comes before play. We landed late Friday, and by 7am Saturday morning we were already on the road, scouting the best of what the Wild West of Ibiza had to offer. We found plenty of spots that felt like California or Arizona – think cacti, fields full of hay, horses in secret farms. I insisted on building a wall of hay to shoot against, and that ended up becoming our first viral video, with hilarious comments that we’ve now turned into a poster - we’ll be hanging it in HQ soon – go to our post on insta to check some.

The new stock is hot! We shot some incredible H Bar C shirts spanning the last century, some really sexy Wrangler ranchers, and tons of amazing western details throughout the pieces. It was super inspiring and sparked some new ideas we’ll be sharing when the time’s right.

Marina also added a new skill to her CV: best petrol girl in town and found her soulmate tank top. I mastered ironing 100 shirts in 30 minutes and getting changed in the wild!

Back at the ranch, Marina met the lovely Ags Conolly for a stroll and took him to our barn in Notts - we love spending time with fellow pardners.

That was month two, folks! A Spanish suntan, lots of batch coffee, pastries, pan con tomate (new breakfast favourite), three rolls of film, and always loads of fun and passion - this is why we do this.

Thanks so much to our lovely community, which has grown so much over the past month. We gained over 1K followers, and it’s so rewarding - it tells us we’re heading in the right direction and keeps us motivated to keep spreading the love we have for all things western.

Stay tuned for what happens next – because anything could happen! Any guesses where we’re heading next?
