Last month at the ranch, April 2025

Our latest Instagram poll revealed that you’d love to see more behind the scenes, so with April coming to a close, and marking our first official month of working together, we thought we’d put it all here.

Joao’s first day at the barn!

Running a business when you live 106 miles apart is doable - but it takes some planning. Running a business when you and your business partner also work full time? That means planning everything down to the minute. Despite the time crunch, we’ve managed to see each other every weekend, alternating between the countryside and London, shooting our first collection in just two days, editing, listing and handling all the admin. And the best part? We still wanted to work together after all that. Call it a match!

Car filled to the roof and Marina’s house turned into dry cleaning.

Right after the launch, we hit the road for a few buying trips - some locally, some overseas. We don’t buy bulk or any mystery boxes, each item is handpicked by us, because the rule is, we're only selling what we’d like to wear ourselves.

1. Thrifting Jesus was on our side / 2. We’ve been through 2 of those 300kg western shirt bales only to pull 1 we liked. This is why we won’t buy bulk. / 3. Handpicking is the best! / 4. Someone ordered a pick up?

One of the coolest warehouses we’ve been to!

Out of the three buying trips we did this month, only one turned out to be really successful. We’ve scored some great stock - part of it will be launching on April 30. At the end of the very long day, we thought like celebrating.

1. A VERY early call to hit the road. / 2 & 3. Our idea of heaven. / 4. We passed out after this and it was only 6 pm!

Although we might have celebrated a little too early… Our car broke down, so we packed what we could, shipped the rest and came back home in a more scenic way.

And when we say we only buy items we’d wear… Marina couldn’t help but ‘try’ some of the shirts we brought - this blue checked Wrangler one is a perfection.

If you saw us running around London with two overflowing IKEA bags - that’s because we’ve been working on the next drop, with a city as a backdrop. We both dress western pretty much all the time - whether we’re at the barn or picking up an oat flat white at De Beauvoir Deli, so we figured, why not bring a little Austin energy to this side of the pond?

London calling!

Caffeinated & dehydrated, we weren’t ready for this heatwave…

But we said we’d take it easy once we’re done with those 30+ items.

And we meant it!

Though it might seem like we’re planning our outfits, we really don’t. But we do fight about some items we pick.

One thing about us - we never pass by a mirror selfie opportunity!

A shirt we both want to keep…

This has been a hell of a month, and we’re both beyond grateful for your support - it honestly means everything. It’s what pushes us forward, and it’s what makes letting go of our annual leave from our full-time jobs feel totally worth it. Wishing you all the best in May, Marina & Joao.
